We believe quality palliative care occurs when strong networks exist between specialist palliative care providers, primary generalists, primary specialists and support care providers and the community.

 

Palliative Care NT (PCNT) is a not-for-profit organisation that strives to:

• raise awareness of palliative care

• promote conversations around death and Advance Care Planning

• improve access to palliative care services around the Northern Territory

• improve the quality of care and support available to all Territorians at the end of their lives.

 

PCNT is a core interest group run largely by member volunteers with two branches: the Top End branch based in Darwin and the Central branch based in Alice Springs.

 

We do not deliver clinical services and are not affiliated with the NT Government or Territory Palliative Care, which provide specialist palliative care services in the NT.

Palliative Care Australia is the national peak body for palliative care and we share their vision for ‘quality palliative care for all who need it.

Our work is aligned with the priorities in the National Palliative Care Strategy and along with the seven other member organisations around Australia, we strive together in our mission – ‘to influence, foster and promote the delivery of quality palliative care for all who need it, when and where they need it.
